our weekend at GAYLORD OPRYLAND

Spooky fun at Goblins & Giggles!

Goblins & Giggles is happening NOW through October 31st at Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee! We were kindly invited to experience this annual spooktacular, and the kids loved every bit! This was our first time at this resort, and it did NOT disappoint! I will be sharing my review of this hotel later, but for now I just wanted to share the spooky fun that was had!

ITINERARY

We arrived on a Friday evening and the hotel was already full of energy. It got the kids so excited! After getting settled into our room, the kids got ready for the Hide & Seek Scavenger Hunt featuring Spookley the Square Pumpkin. They wore these cute pajamas from Target, which you can find here for Wynter’s outfit, here for Jionni’s, and here for Golden’s. The kids couldn’t wait to wear! So many compliments received on these pajamas!

Anywho, we received our booklets for this activity from the front desk, however, you can purchase these at the Frightfully Fun Zone which is located in the Delta Atrium- you’ll pick up your prize when you finish the hunt from here as well. We had a blast trying to figure out the clues which led us around different areas of the resort. We arrived late to the resort so we ordered room service when we were done and headed to bed!

Soundwaves

We couldn’t wait to get our day started on Saturday. We stopped at Starbucks to grab a light breakfast and drinks for DJ and I to get ready for all the non-stop of the day! We began at Soundwaves Water Experience, which is an upscale indoor/outdoor water park with 9 attractions attached to the resort. When I say we could’ve stayed all day…we could’ve stayed ALL DAY! The kids had a blast! We spent much of this day indoor as it was a little breezy out, and indoor was heated! I loved how they had a section for the littles and the biggest slides for the biggest of kids. I would’ve gone down but I had Golden wrapped around me. I was able to get in the lazy river though with him in the tube! Jionni loved the Groovin Lagoon Activity Pool which included basketball hoops, a lily pad walk, and a rock wall! Crowdsurfer and the LilyPad were his favorite. We stayed here for an easy 5 hours, and still hadn’t got on everything!

Ghoul School Interactive Show

We had lunch at the onsite restaurant Cascades, took a short nap, and rushed over to Ghoul School! This was too cute! The kids were arranged in groups for “class” at different stations and included song & dance. The kids especially liked ‘Boris Beats” hip hop class and “Jake El Hyde” science with candy at the end!

Ghouls Night Out Riverboat Ride

We ran up to put on our costumes and headed for the riverboat ride. This is typically the Riverboat ride that rides through the atrium at Gaylord and offered daily. This spooky ride included an “I Spy” list that went along with the riddle of the boat tour. It was so fun looking for each item and listening to the clues!

They have a ghoulish dance towards the end of the ride. It was a cute choregraphed number, but Wynter got a little spooked with all the darkness and the creepy voices. Jionni was such a great big brother trying to comfort her! When we got off the ride they gave us 3D glasses, which turned all the lamps in the resort into Pumpkins when you put them on.

Trick or Treat Expedition

They were ready to start trick or treating after. We grabbed our bags and maps, which you’ll also have to pick up from the Frightfully Fun zone. We also brought our pumpkin baskets from home (find them here). It took us about an hour to complete and find all the candy spots on the map, in between making new friends and taking pictures around the resort!

Along with candy, the kids got slime, coins, and other fun goodies!

Hidden Treasure Escape Room

Our last day at the resort, sadly, and Wynter decided to dress as a unicorn (dress from Three by The Sea Clothing; unicorn ears from Target – get them here ) . After getting breakfast we headed to the Hidden Treasure Escape Room . This was on the Magnolia side of the resort, across from the Jack Daniels restaurant (so we HAD to get a picture).

Without going into the details and giving out clues, we had a scary good time figuring out where the treasure was! It took us all 30 minutes, BUT we made it out! This was such a great time for us all!

Frightfully Fun Zone

We headed back to the Fun Zone to do some Halloween crafting! Here you can decorate pumpkin cookies, paint, and a few other offerings depending on the activity calendar. We also had the skeleton cookie and Halloween glitz house. Wynter ate a good chunk of her candy before decorating LOL , but it still came out cute! The cookies were yummy and Mom and Dad were happy to have a second to sit with them! We were able to bring the skeleton cookie and Halloween glitz house home with us! We’ll be decorating these leading up to Halloween as part of our crafting for the holiday.

We ended our itinerary of Halloween spookiness taking more pictures and strolling the Delta Atrium…

… and of course, we had to go back to Soundwaves!! The great thing about Soundwaves is you’re able to enjoy this part of the resort without booking a hotel. As long as you have a wristband you’re free to enjoy the entire day, which we did! We did not want to leave!

This was such a fun getaway with the family, and got us all in the spirit of Halloween fun! We can’t thank Gaylord Opryland enough for having us, and can’t wait to get back! Check out our highlights from the trip here .

You can purchase your tickets for Goblins & Giggles or book your family staycation here . Right now they’re gearing up for Christmas and ICE event for the holidays! Check it out!
